The Day You Painted The Stars

Filmed at a sold-out show on November 15, 2025

at Firebox Theater in Wake Forest, NC

The Day You Painted The Stars is relevant and vital today as it addresses universal themes of grief and self-discovery that resonate deeply with audiences, particularly when many people are grappling with loss and seeking ways to navigate through it. This work was created in response to choreographer Diana Hoffmaster's experience of losing three family members within a short time. Turning to meditation and traveling dimensions, this work was a means of healing and expression. By delving into the subconscious and exploring the complexities of grief through movement, the choreography offers a unique and cathartic experience for both performers and viewers. Additionally, the portrayal of the cyclical nature of grief serves as a poignant reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring impact of those we have lost.
